Breakfast!
The morning starts early for Barbara and on her arrival home from the 'day job' her next job is to look after the rescued cats and her own feline family.
At 9.30 all the bowls have been washed and filled with breakfast, all the litter trays scrubbed and cleaned and all the cats cuddled, medicated, checked and played with....
New Arrivals
At 10 Barbara sets off to the Vet with the two latest arrivals – one needs a complete dematting and the other a dental and vaccinations – one of the pensioners is a little off colour so she goes along too.
Dealing with your enquiries
At 11.30 Barbara checks her answer phone and returns calls to people interested in adoption, she also has a well deserved cup of tea (shared by Hector) brushes and washes the faces of the rescued Persians and sends photos to the potential adopters.
Barbara to the rescue
At 12 the phone rings – a distressed owner who can no longer cope with his three Persians – can we help? Barbara gets all the details and arranges to go to Essex with one of the Trustees to collect (this is a two woman job) the following week Then it's time to do the medications, clean the litter trays and prepare lunch In the afternoon Barbara has had two more cats booked to come in – five in just one day she goes to collect the ones from the mornings Vet run and then its time to prepare one of the cats for his new home.
Best Part of the Day
Then the bit that makes it all worthwhile – Persian and Person fall instantly in love – another happy ending from London Persian Rescue! Off he goes in his special new box to his forever home
The Day is never over
By 5pm Barbara is getting ready to go to work when the 'phone rings....
Can LPR help another rescue? A breeder has died and they are inundated with cats – all pedigrees but not all Persians
So how does Barbara spend Saturday? Racing along in one of our kind adopters cars to collect another 5 cats who need a new start in life
and so the work continues.............
Why we need your support
Now more than ever in these times of recession people and their pets fall on hard times. Without people like Barbara who devote so much of their time and love to helping cats in need what would happen to those who through no fault of their own cannot help themselves?
Please support us – time, a small donation, buying a calender anything you can spare to help the team carry on the care
If you would like to help Barbara and feel you can offer a few hours to the cause, or just want to tell her what a wonderful job she is doing, please email her and let her know....
