I ask for £150 donation for each re-housed cat, to help pay for veterinary treatment and upkeep. The cats are not kept in pens as I like to gain an insight into each cats' personality. Most cats become stressed in pens, and I get to know each cat properly and observe how they behave around other cats. They have complete freedom and I find most frightened and timid cats make a swifter recovery in this way, than being handled against their will.
When I house a cat, I am available 24 hours a day for advice on any problems that may arise. These are mostly minor hiccups: rescue cats, when rehomed, need time and space to adapt to their new life. They also have to learn to trust people again, especially if they have been badly treated before. MOST PROBLEMS ARE SOLVEABLE!!
The majority of cats housed to people become good friends of mine, and I therefore have a personal interest in their welfare. |
